Dillon McGough is Live on Elevate

It was a pleasure to have Dillon McGough on the show. Dillon recently changed the course of his career from working in the political realm as a lobbyist in the healthcare industry, to focusing on real estate full time. He is a multifamily investment broker and an investor in his real estate investment company, East River Equity Group.

The theme of Tyler and Dillon’s conversation is centered on surrounding yourself with people who cause you to become greater, as well as possessing a seek to serve mindset. Dillon honed in on the idea of surrounding yourself with people who you want to become. “If you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re probably in the wrong room,” he said. He also discussed the importance of a seek to serve mentality, and how focusing on other people, not just himself, is a complete win-win situation.

Dillon discussed his process of how to say “no” to things and people that don't align with your core values, using a simple checklist to weigh the benefits and downsides of each potential action.
